From 2002 to 2007, Col. Dr. Dany Tirza led the planning of the “Security Fence,” which was a key element in stopping the wave of Palestinian terror that plagued Israel from 2000 to 2006. He was responsible for:

· The geographical planning of the route.
Harnessing and integrating all security agencies, government ministries, the State Attorney’s Office, the Environment, the Antiquities Authority, municipal authorities and the Jerusalem Municipality, the various civil administration bodies and planning authorities, for the protection of Israeli citizens and providing solutions for Israeli and Palestinian residents.
Seizure of land for military needs, determination of the location and nature of the crossings and service levels in them, the combination of infrastructure, technology and activity of military and police elements, planning of roads, camps and facilities for military and civilian use and integration of large systems in the project.
The statutory procedures for approving the route and obtaining the rights to the land, including representation in about 124 petitions in the Supreme Court and junior courts.
Throughout his years of activity in the IDF and the Ministry of Defense, Col. Dr. Tirza has had continuous staff work with government ministries and municipal authorities in Judea and Samaria and in the seam area and the Jerusalem Municipality.
